The GED program consists out of 4 main subjects, each with their respective subtopics much the same as with the CAPS syllabus i.e.: In CAPS Social Sciences consists out of 2 subjects namely History and Geography, with the GED program the main subjects are structured in much the same way. 

 

The 4 main GED subjects with their subtopics are as follow:

    • Identifying and Creating Arguments
    • Grammar and Language

 

  • Social Studies
    • Civics and government (50%)
    • United States history (20%)
    • Economics (15%)
    • Geography and the world (15%)

 

  • Sciences 
    • Life science (40%)
    • Physical science (40%)
    • Earth and space science (20%)

 

  • Mathematical Reasoning 
    • Quantitative problem solving (45%)
    • Algebraic problem solving (55%)

 

All subjects are presented in English.
